You can delete your FormChase account and personal data at any time, free of charge. This page explains how, in line with your right to erasure under GDPR Article 17.
1. Delete from inside the app (recommended)
- Open FormChase and sign in.
- Go to More → Legal & Privacy.
- Scroll to Danger Zone and, under Delete Account & Data, tap Delete My Account.
- Re-authenticate when prompted, type
DELETE-MY-DATAand tap Delete Permanently.
Your account and personal data are then removed (see Section 3). You are signed out immediately.
2. Request deletion without the app
If you can no longer access the app, email contact@formchase.com from the address associated with your account (or tell us the account email) with the subject "Delete my account". We verify your identity and complete the deletion within one month (GDPR Article 12(3)), usually much sooner.
Security note: we do not delete an account just because someone knows an email address. We verify control of the account email, may require signed-in confirmation or other minimal account evidence where needed, and do not confirm whether an account exists until identity is verified. Requests from trainers, relatives, employers or other third parties require proof of authority and additional verification.
3. What is deleted
Deletion removes your personal data across our systems, including:
- Your profile and account, and your login (you will no longer be able to sign in);
- Workouts, routines and personal records;
- Nutrition logs, meal plans, recipes and water logs;
- Body measurements and any synced Apple Health data;
- Uploaded images and photos (the image files, not just the records);
- Your coaching relationships, and the identity and health data a coach held about you (name, contact details, notes, goals, injuries, measurements and progress notes). Training sessions a coach logged with you stay with them, without your name, contact details, notes or health data;
- Consent records (a pseudonymised copy is kept, see Section 4), notifications and device push tokens.
We also pass the deletion on to our processors; for example, we delete your subscription record at RevenueCat. Analytics events linked to your account are deleted from our database. Events sent to PostHog do not contain your account ID, and on deletion the app resets the analytics identifier on your device, so they can no longer be linked to you.
4. What is retained, and for how long
A limited set of records is kept only where the law requires it or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, and is otherwise minimised:
- Consent and legal-acceptance records: a pseudonymised copy (identifiers hashed with a secret key, what was accepted, version and date) is kept for 3 years after account deletion as evidence of lawful processing, then deleted.
- Data-subject-request records: kept for 3 years after the request is resolved, to demonstrate we honoured your request. For the same purpose we also keep a deletion audit record (what was deleted and when, with technical details of the request).
- Billing data: we keep no fiscal records; Apple and Google, as merchants of record for App Store / Google Play subscriptions, keep their own payment records. We do not store your payment-card details.
- Public library contributions: kept in anonymised form.
Deleted data may remain in our encrypted database backups for at most 14 days, after which those backups are deleted. Details are in our Privacy Policy (Section 6).
5. Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your store account: on iOS, Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
6. Your other rights
You can also access, export (data portability), correct, restrict or object to the processing of your data. See the Legal & Privacy screen in the app, use our Privacy Requests page, or read the Privacy Policy (Section 7). You may lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
